Join in
Journalism Enterprise.com is a community blog - written and maintained by volunteer contributors. Anyone can join, and how much you contribute is up to you - from helping improve reviews to suggesting leads, through to writing yourself.
If you want to join the JE.com team, this is how it works:
- Send an email to info@journalismenterprise.com introducing yourself and saying how you want to contribute, and register yourself at http://journalismenterprise.com/wp-login.php?action=register.
- Once you’ve been accepted you will be signed up to a mailing list on 9cays.com. You will need to accept an invite to join 9cays. This mailing list is used to: post leads (sites that need reviewing); ‘claim’ or ‘bagsy’ leads (say that you want to review something); post draft reviews; and comment on others’ draft reviews, i.e. suggest corrections to English, factual errors, etc.
- Once you’ve claimed a lead, you can post it using this template. Try to keep your review succinct - one or two pars per question.
- Your first post will need to be accepted by team editors before it goes public. But you will be able to publish future posts yourself.
Notes:
- Members of the JE.com team agree to the following: that they will never write a review of a site or project which they have a personal connection with, or have been financially rewarded by (e.g. by having a review paid for). Doing so will result in immediate dismissal from the group and disclosure on the blog and original post. This is important because the blog is open to all contributors, so trust must be maintained.
- Any revenue generated by the site goes back into the site and its contributors.
- Finally, this is your site. If you want to invite others to contribute, play with widgets, promote it, or have ideas for generating revenue, etc. then feel free - and if you need help, ask the group. I’ve just set the thing up, now it’s over to you.
