About
Journalism Enterprise.com reviews websites that are attempting to make money from journalism in the new media age. That may be a mainstream organisation launching a new media spin-off, an internet startup looking to make millions, a non-profit news venture, or an entrepreneur setting up a solo project. In short, if they’re trying to make money from journalism - or launching a journalism project - we’ll cover it.
The site is a sister blog of the Online Journalism Blog, and was set up by its publisher, Paul Bradshaw, who maintains Journalism Enterprise.com and twiddles about with it. However, Journalism Enterprise.com is written by a team of bloggers from all over the world. The author’s name should appear at the beginning or end of each review.
You may notice some experiments of our own with enterprise (yes, those hideous Google Ads). Any (likely minimal) revenue from these will go towards upkeep and, where possible, paying contributors.
The idea, by the way, is shamelessly stolen from my colleague Andrew Dubber’s similar site for music startups, New Music Ideas. I was toying with using a wiki to do this before Dubber knocked on my door, and his way of doing things seemed so much better. Thanks Andrew.
The OJB logo was designed by Adam Stewart, at the time of writing a first year student on the BA (Hons) Media and Communication (Web and New Media).
